\\\\\\\"Time brings all things to life, in that I trust it so.\\\\\\\" ~ Willie Stark

When the tides change
I’ll be free
to drown among my people
in the ancient lands of nowhere
nowhere you would go
with a head upon my hat
and feet upon my shoes
it’s time to go inside
to survive
the cold of the air conditioning
in my room it’s harsh living
with the lights turned off
no one makes a sound
except the pitter patter of my soul
across the aluminum roof of my mind
like raindrops in your eye
all you are is a blurred image
thoughts once clear
are now hard to see
I have to retrieve my telescope
just to see you
still leaves me empty inside
’cause I think it’s my fault
that I have no idea
but I don’t know what to think
or where to begin
so I just sit and wait
for the tide to come in.

It's another work of art that reaches past my general animosity towards poetry.

It's great!

This is absolutely amazing. The title made me laugh; it makes perfect sense, even though the goal is for it to not make any sense at all. Keep writing; you have talen. (:

Dude, it doesn't rhyme. That's awesome!!! I hate it when poems rhyme, it's so constricting.

Wow, this poem really made me sit back and evaluate my life. I loved how creative it was, and how well the words flowed. It definitely had strong emotion behind it. Loved it, and keep on writing! I want to hear more from you.

I cannot see what flowers are at my feet,
Nor what soft incense hangs upon the boughs,
But, in embalmed darkness, guess each sweet
Wherewith the seasonable month endows
The grass, the thicket, and the fruit-tree wild;
White hawthorn, and the pastoral eglantine;

Fast fading violets cover'd up in leaves;

And mid-May's eldest child,
The coming musk-rose, full of dewy wine,

The murmurous haunt of flies on summer eves.
---John Keat's "Ode to a Nightingale"

Wow, I love freeverse poetry -- forming meter and rhyme and scrcture with your own inuition. I think this poem is very beautiful. It's very ee cummings. It's very easy to understand.

I really like this poem. I've read it twice now, and it was just as good the second time- which cannot be said about all poems. Keep writing!
