The Cellar by Natasha Preston
It all starts off on an ordinary evening for Summer, she was going to go out with some friends. The way she planned to take to get to her destination was a routine path that she went down but that evening she was kidnapped. She was told that she was now Lily, and not Summer for some weird reason that you will find out if you read it. Next thing she knows she was in a cellar with three other girls who were kidnapped just like her. They all had flower names, and on the table there were flowers for each of their names. As Summer tried to find ways to escape the other girls tried to stop her from escaping because they have seen him do things that Summer hasn't seen yet. As the girls stay in the surprisingly nice and organized cellar, her boyfriend Lewis was looking for her and so was her whole family. Lewis wanted to find her the most though. While Summer was trying to keep her sanity it looked like Clover (the kidnapper) has already lost his. What Clover wants the girls to do is stay clean and keep the cellar clean. Throughout the book it stays the same as Summer keeps trying to escape and the girls keep trying to stop her, also Lewis her boyfriend continues looking for her.
From the beginning of the book I knew what the ending would be like. It was very predictable and obvious. But I kept reading because it was hard to stop reading once you started reading. It was also creative because every chapter would be from another character's point of view. I liked the way the author showed everyone's thoughts so you knew what was going on inside their head. One other thing I liked is that it was kind of creepy and scary. At some points in the book I had to take a break because it got pretty intense. Overall I liked this book and I recommend it to anyone who likes a good, twisted mystery. A couple questions you might want to ask yourself as you read, is
Will Summer escape?
Why is Clover keeping them down there?
Will Lewis find Summer?
