A Child Called It by David Peltzer
Have you ever read a book so good it's glued to your hands? Well "A Child Called It" is more like cement. It's extremely thrilling, yet still sad and cruel. At points the main character, Dave, gets depressed and gets about 2 hairs from going insane, he never does.
At a young age Dave gets abused, neglected, and starved by his own mother, Catherine. He goes through a very rough childhood that contains stealing to survive and his mother starving him after that, rough cycle huh. The rest is for me to know and you to find out.
I give this book 4.5/5. Why the .5 you ask? Because at points this book is like a lazy river at an amusement park, and others it's like a waterfall.
This is a great book for all ages who can handle a little sadness. I believe this is one of the best novels I have ever read.
