When reading The Truth About Forever, I was wishing it would never end. I was actually disappointed to come to the last few pages. I've read many other Sarah Dessen books, but this was by far my favorite of them all. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to read a good book. No matter who you are, there something or someone you can relate to.

     The Truth About Forever is about Macy, a 16 year old girl whose father unexpectedly dies and feels alone in her grieving. However, she covers up her overwhelming sadness by becoming "perfect." She has immaculate grades, the seemingly perfect boyfriend, and a spotless record, which is used like a mask to hide her true feelings. Along comes the Wish Catering crew, who help her understand that perfect is unattainable, and it's more important to be yourself. In the mix, she meets Wes, who shows her how to really be happy with who you are. 

     Sarah Dessen really makes this book a perfect mix of emotion, sadness, happiness, and romance that weakly adds to the story and makes it more real and interesting to read. I especially liked the way Macy was very reserved in the beginning, but eventually opened up as the book progressed. Also, you can really connect to the diversity of the characters, and how each and every one goes through or has gone through a tough time in their lives. With each each downfall in the book, there's that last bit of hope that things will improve, which makes it almost impossible to put down. 

     The Truth About Forever has a little bit of something for everyone. I'm sure most would find it a young-adult female book, however. The characters in the book are teenagers, which is probably the age group Dessen targeted. The vocabulary and plot, I feel, are aimed for the 12+ category, and mostly for girls. Nonetheless, the conglomeration of characters and personalities are sure to relate to anyone who might read it. 

     Sarah Dessen truly outdid herself with this book, and had me hoping it didn't have an ending. The intriguing storyline had me reading nonstop for hours on end, and the heartfelt ending left me falling in love with the characters all over again. Just when you think the worst has come, there's always something to keep you going. Overall, I feel I could read this book time and time again, and never get tired of it. I would most definitely recommend it to almost anyone.
