Fraudulent is the love that most call true
Rebels follow Cupid oh so blindly
None can see my heavenly love for you
Our eyes see only purely, divinely
Often deceitful can be shallow love
Churchmen rendered visionless by their smart
From celestial zeal they are devoid of
Who can stifle the hunger of their hearts
Cupid’s lens of beauty can be unjust
Providing only counterfeit fondness
But we have learned to look beyond just lust
Deep into a realm of Nature’s solace
Invalid are the mortal elements but
True; and yet true, is this human sentiment

I got all of my inspiration from Phillip Sidney's fifth Astrophil and Stella sonet. I really wanted to parallel my poem to his and draw on the word true and its dichotomy.
