One Christmas Night
The presents are hidden,
The stockings hang.
The cookies smelled great,
As the carolers sang.
When i heard something in the house,
I looked all around.
I heard it again,
The peculiar sound.
I saw someone looking over our tree,
I looked at him and he looked at me.
There was an awkward silence but he finally said,
Little one please go back to bed.
I went up the stairs but then came, right back down.
I looked at the tree,
There was no one around.
