billowing red dress red wine stains black car floor silver purity ring clank spark hits gray concrete white lies and she was sober
and she tells me about that night and she smiles the whole time she cries and my hands jitter and i play chords and i play notes
and she plays on strength and prays her throat holds and i pray my arms do
423 miles an hour 361 “nos” 2nd date 1 boy 15th birthday 13 vertical scratches  on her back patch marked pavement on her knees
“you promise?”
and she scratches her knees trying to pick the promise ring out from between the concrete cracks
and i can't read sheet music but i press at the piano anyways and she cant  keep his name out of her mouth but she tries to speak, tries to smile anyways
and I knot my hands and its sobering its sobering stone cold grey pavement
and i look up from the dirt piled chair we’re sitting in
grab the fabric from the floor and try to scratch him out with my hands
“i promise”
and i never knew how hard it was to find red wine stains on blood red satin

This is amazing. Unusual, insightful and creatively deals with a very difficult issue. Excellent way with words.

I wrote this about a friend after she told me about what had happened the night before. We sat in broken down music practice rooms and I went home to write a story I wish had never happened.
