The leatherbound book

Sitting on the shelf

Filled with so much knowledge

And ancient tales of old

Gathering dust

Untouched

By the eager young hands of generations

That come and go

What I hope people get from this poem is that knowledge shouldn't be forgotten and that all features of our history are relevant today, even the most neglected and misused of books on an old library shelf.
