Lifesaver

October 1, 2014
By Anonymous

Take me back to the past,

When I was just a little girl.

A big smile on my face,

With no care in the world.

Why did I want to grow up so bad?

Time is going by way too fast.

Reality brings shudders down my spine,

Walking through a blizzard of ice,

Bleeding in every way.

It's too dark now.

Drowning along the walk.

Grab my hand and pull me out.

Every muscle, all the strength

It will take.

Rescue me, lifesaver.

For those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will fly on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

I love it! Keep writing!

Beautiful poem! You perfectly expressed how it feels to grow older and leave your childhood behind. Congrats on getting Editor's choice, you've earned it! 5/5 stars

I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions. - James Michener

This is exactly how I feel so often now! Time is going way too fast and I just want to be a kid again in a seemingly perfect world. I especially loved the last line, great job!
