It's stationed within everyone's home,

It glistens and shines,

Reflective to light and presents one's appearance,

The mirror is said to be marvelous

It gives off negative and positive views of one,

It produces negativity,

We use the negativity to judge others,
When we judge by appearance not personality,

The mirror is said to be marvelous

It's the only object that can lie to an indivisual,

It points out your flaws,
It has the power to encourage you to look "perfect,"

The mirror is said to be marvelous

When the real question is who do you want to be?
Just remember thats your descision not an objects

The author's comments:
Being a former freshman this year, I was encouraged to write this piece in writing response groups. Everyday at lunch time I see former peers trying to be somthing they really aren't whether it be physically or anything drawn upon in their actions. We all struggle or find somthing inperfect about how we look, but it's our indivisual will to look past that.I just hope that one day we will all overcome our insecurites and put them behind us, because, there isnt one person at my school and any others that are "ugly." We are all beautiful it's just whether we can see it within ourselves, that's all.

I love the truth in this, and the ending was absolutely perfect!

"Writers aren't exactly one person, they're a whole bunch of people trying to be one person"

I liked this poem. Very nice job.
