bubbles.
god’s just a little kid
with a big bottle
of Miracle Bubbles
and a wand
dipping, blowing these
bubbles
all doomed to

pop

at one point or another.
they either drop
too fast, before
he can catch them,
or the biggest ones
pop!
before they’ve even
been launched.
it’s the little ones
that leave quietly
and take their time

gently

drifting

down

everyone leaves a mark,
you know,
but sooner or later
they’ve all evaporated.

The author's comments:
I happened to be blowing bubbles in my room when my thoughts suddenly took a semi-philosophical turn and came up with this metaphor. I liked the idea immediately, if only because it was both lighthearted and yet potentially cynical (in pointing out that a person's life, no matter how long his/her "imprint" lasts, will fade away eventually).

That's awesome. I never really thought of life in that way. Although I don't agree with the whole idea of size. *I'm six feet and don't think I'm going to fail : )*  But the idea is pretty cool.

Wow! I had never thought of life that way! That's quite interresting.

Although God is much more caring than that and would never reduce us to bubbles! He also wanted us to live forever-not just a few mere days.

That's so cool! Pretty accurate, too, though I never would have thought of bubbles. Keep up the good work!

That is a good question. Well, I suppose if your God, you can manage.

Wowww that was an amazing poem. I completely agree that someone's imprint will eventually fade away. Isn't that fact kind of sad?

This is so beautiful! Something so childish and young can mean so much and be so deep to relate to life and death. Bravo! :D

Bubbles represant life excusitly. They are delicit like liives; changed drasticly but simply mistakes. There are many things that could happen to a bubble, but one thing is for sure; it will pop. It's how that bubble takes course that makes all the difference.

Great poem! I loved the pacing of the piece. The little "Pop!"s were cute and the way you spaced and paced (Ha I rhymed!) really kept me interested! Great poem!
