Self Hate
What others think of me matters most
But most people see me as a ghost
Invisible and floating around
Not making a single sound
The truth that I keep inside me
That shall never be spoken, never be free
Is that I hate the person in the mirror
And everyday that hate becomes clearer
To the people who see me laugh and smile
To the ones who see me frown for awhile
When fellow students call me names
It doesn't hold a candle to my flame
Of hate for myself, burning bright and long
Blazing for fifteen years too long
But despise all the world has brought me
I put a fake smile on my face, one filled of glee
Because I know I am strong
And one day I'll find somewhere to belong
