Backstage of the theatre
with the music pumping
for those already on stage
It's the quick "May I
borrow your lipstick?"
and hairspray fumes
that bring us together,
moments before our bond is tested.
Glitter sticks to your feet
as we wait in the shadowy curtains
breaths away from our turn
to mesmerize the crowd.
