By Herself
No wishing on a star for me,
I’d rather chase after my dreams.
I won’t wait around for my Prince Charming,
Even though his smile might be disarming.
For I was made for grander things
Than waiting around for a ring.
You can’t hold me back, or make me give in;
This voice will be heard above the world’s din.
So here I go, I’m ready to try.
I might be solo but I can still fly.
I am confident and self-assured.
In who I am, I am secure.
