Write a poem." the teacher says.
"On anything at all."
I groan. I know what's coming next.
Because I can't write a poem.

My ryhmes are abysmal,
My ideas unoriginal
Mistakes to many to total
Because I can't write a poem.

"I wandered lonely as a cloud."
Oh wait! That sounds familar.
I can't use that. Oh this is hopeless.
I can't write a poem.

"Use your head." the teaher urges.
"Think outside the box."
But I'm very much in the box.
Because I can't write a poem.

"Time's up." I stare in shock.
This can't be. I'm not done.
I guess this is one test I'm sure to fail.
All because I can't write a poem
