1861- 1865
Marching into a haze of confusion
Grounds of despair
As my feet walk towards battle
My mind is not there
I left for adventure
Instead I met death
Watching young men cry
As they drew their last breath
I see boys like me
Scared and freezing
As we yearn for home
Our only thought is of leaving
I will fight this war for justice
As I was raised to do
I will die in this war for justice
As I thought I had wanted to
