Suffocated
Mama always told me
Not to wear a necklace when I sleep
That it will twine around my neck
And it will suffocate me
I never listened and wore the one you gave me
Every day and every night
I even wore that necklace
The night we had our fight
The night you said goodbye
I didn’t take it off
Well that’s the night it twisted tight
Choking and making me cough
I knew I should’ve listened to mama
‘Cause that’s the night my face turned blue
That damn necklace almost killed me
All because of you
