Favorite Quote:
&quot;I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.&quot; -Beatrice Evelyn Hall.<br /> &quot;Stones are raw, they blunt my paw, but words will never hurt me.&quot; (The Sight, David Clement-Davies) And many more...

I'll watch from a distance as usual,
Because I know the feelings aren't mutual.
I watch from a window of an empty home,
All because I'll never leave my comfort zone.
His careful eyes, his careless smile,
Makes every single moment worthwhile.
I watch him come and I watch him go,
Hoping my true feelings won't ever show.
To forget I roam this dark empty home,
No exits except for that shining window.
The only place where the light comes through,
Where I make my wish hoping it will come true.
But alas, It's locked from outside,
I may exit if someone swallows their pride.
I touch the window to feel its warmth,
To escape this home isolated from Earth.
There he is once again he looks over,
I see him walk towards me this hell may be over.
My heart races faster and I can imagine my freedom,
Never once felt nature, to me she's a stranger.
To walk barefoot in the grass on a beautiful Sunday,
To feel the wind in my hair and the sun shining my way.
But alas he keeps walking right past my cell,
He's with a girl whom he loves I can tell.
I see them kiss and it suddenly begins to rain,
And they run to shelter as I watch them in pain.
My window gets cold so I walk away,
Without hopes for the following day.
An eternity later my story is told,
How a heart-broken girl turned old all alone.
Searching for an exit and looking out her window all day,
As everyone watched the pitiful girl whither away.

My inspiration for this poem was based on a personal fear of mine, I still wonder each and every day if my nightmare will come true.
