Why Now?
The first time I saw you, I knew I loved you.
You didn’t feel the same.
You told me about her,
How you felt when you looked at her,
When she smiled back at you.
I stood by your side,
When you laughed and when you cried.
When you realized she wasn’t the one,
I was your shoulder.
Two years I was in love with you.
I finally realized you would never feel the same way.
I got over you,
I moved on.
Now you tell me there’s no one like me.
Now you tell me anyone who passes me up is crazy.
Now you tell me you love me.
Why now?
Why not two years ago?
What has changed?
I haven’t.
You sure haven’t.
Nothing has.
Why now?
