Favorite Quote:
Every word written is a victory against death.

Lemonade stands, and late night walks
Bike rides across, dead end streets
Fallen leaves, and fights in the snow
A cold ice covered side walk

Your handprint beneath my feet

Fireflies and hidden angels
A barefoot walk, across the grass
Friendship bracelets
And sprinkler tides

Your handprint beneath my feet

Bee stings and popsicles
Water fights, childhood laughter
Easter egg hunts and reindeer food
Fallen leaves, and igloo forts

Your handprint, beneath my feet

Teenage years, no walk in the park
Tears that spill, on that print
A girl who plans, to run away
But finds that treasure, of childhood

A handprint, beneath her feet
The hand of a girl, she never knew
But with who she shares, a special bond
Of sidewalk chalk, and childhood dreams

Teenage drama, a broken heart
Damaged ego, a tragedy
Family troubles, you can’t understand
Your childhood, so far away

But still your handprint, beneath my feet

The author's comments:
Everywhere we go, maybe even where we live, there's always signs of past life, of people who may have even walked in your shoes, but whom you have never met; which is why I wrote this poem.
