In My Heart, I Cried
I watered the flower at noon
But by now the soil has dried
The sun took what it wanted
And in my heart, I cried
The leaves fell in wilt
In a way, appearing died
The life it lived was ending
And in my heart, I cried
I took good care of it
I gave what I could and tried
But my best still wasn’t enough
And in my heart, I cried
The flower was given a chance
As the sun decided to hide
But all hope was lost
And in my heart, I cried
With time life may come back
With the proper care and pride
But until it's met with love again
In my heart, I cried

This piece is about a flower that is dying because its water continues to be taken by the sun. And although It tries its best to stay alive, there's nothing it can do. While the poem stresses caring for the flower, the flower is rather a symbol for a heart. This poem is deeply about a relationship between a girl and a boy. And like the sun, the boy takes love from the girl, but in the end, hurts her. And the only thing that can save the girl is true love. And this emotion addressing the pain is shown at the end of each stanza, In my heart I cried, returning the pain from not only the flower, but to the girl.
