Petrified
My words are strong but my voice is weak;
my mouth is open but I can't speak.
I feel a rush to the head, or a blow to the brain.
I should have stayed home instead of wandering in the rain.
Because in this black water, there is no road,
and there is no movement beneath these bones.
I'm terrified and, oh, I think you know - I'm petrified.
Your words are weak but your voice is strong,
from your mouth spills a foolish song.
You're like a slap in the face, or a stab in the side.
You should have stayed in one place instead of following the tide.
Because in this black water, there are no signs,
and there are no thoughts within your mind.
You're terrified, and, oh, yes, I know - you're petrified.
