leaves begin their descent
Leaves begin their descent
Down, down until they collide with the cold ground.
The trees that surround us suffer
And start the months of cold solitude.
Across the lands in this cold, dead, year beauty freezes over
Warm flowers await frozen pedals.
A chipmunk scampers through a wilting bush to his dwelling
A dwelling hidden under the dead
Nothing like a death of a creature
A death more pitiful
It affects everything on this earth
But it is reborn
We know old things must leave and they do
We know new things, beautiful things are born.
