Anticipation
Anticipation
As my group waits in line,
I practice my dance,
Like I had been all week.
Getting more nervous by the second,
I soon hear the words ,“You are on!”
My group walks into the door,
Infront of all the glaring judges.
The music quickly started.
“5, 6, 7, 8…”
I say in my head.
We began quickly dancing.
Trying to remember the dance,
Motion by motion.
Then the dance ended.
I felt like my motions were awful,
I knew I didn’t make the team.
Making it more nerve-racking,
Mrs. A wouldn’t let us find out,
If we had made it or not,
Till Sunday.
Sunday morning,
Anticipated,
We drove to the school.
Racing myself to the door
Where the results were,
My butterflies grew.
I looked on the list…
And I had made it.
I was now a varsity cheerleader
And my anticipation was over!
