My pity
When the guns broke the silence,
And the fire of war lit the sky,
Shells exploded and men die, hence
My criminal feeling for
My dismembered kin,
And living my life.
So many fallen;
I’ve caused Wives strife,
And left Sons and Daughters callin’
When boats wrecked cities,
And all My deepest pity,
Could not help my Enemy,
Or my Kin through Me.
Oh we fought to be free,
but from Enemy’s to Me
We were on our knees
We were calling a plea.
but away back Home,
They called to be free,
They did not understand our plea.
and put Us in our Tomb.
