The Recruit.
The Recruit.
By: Arvind Narayan
I escaped down to the field today .
I lost my way and wished you would come
I shot out in the grass and in the suns array,
In the silence I began to have fun.
In the corner some stray and pumped balls lay
And my passion for the game consumed me,
yet I felt I was not alone that day.
I was not lost and alone on that field.
I felt another presence watching in.
I saw the college scout watching closely.
He kept watching and writing with his pen.
Fear. I hesitated tremendously.
With the prospect of being a athlete
I did prayed that night on my hands and feet.
