When the sun rises in the sky
I open my weary eyes
To live the life that is given to me
My life that feels like an eternity

Though it’s rough, though it’s hard
Though my heart has been severely scarred
I live my life as best I can
Even when things don’t go as I plan

Sometimes I wish that it’d all just end
That life would get easier around the next bend
And even when life seems to only get worse
I got to hang in there and remember I’m not a curse

Sure I’m hurting, sure I’m broken
Sure sometimes I wish I hadn’t woken
But life always moves on no matter what
Even when I feel stuck in the deepest rut

And there are times when even the people I love hurt me
Whether they crush me, betray me, or just treat me coldly
There’ll always be one who is continually by my side
The only perfect one, the one who is my guide

He’s the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost
He’s the one who commands all the heavenly hosts
He’s the one who died on the cross for my sins
He’s the one who will be with me through thick and thin

He’s the one I worship, the one I love
He’s the one who guides us from above
He’s the one who has me completely awed
He’s the real, the only true God

And when God finally calls me home
I’ll worship Him at the foot of his thrown
I’ll thank Him for loving me so so much
I’ll thank Him for being my Heavenly Crutch

No matter how much life gets me down
I have to remember I am safe and sound
I know God has a plan for me that’s not yet complete
And I can’t wait to see what that’ll be

I know it’ll be great, I know it’ll be grand
Because I am following God’s righteous hand
God is always with me, I know this is true
He’ll always be beside me, no matter what I do
