Heartache
That Irish melody,
oh how I despise the sound.
Ever since that heart wrenching day,
I can't seem to get over it,
I drown.
The uniformed man,
a tear in his eye.
Places the flag in my mothers hands,
I just knew she would cry.
Did you see yourself that day?
So handsome in a suit.
We all stood in silence,
as the gun men start to shoot.
The tears are never ending.
My heart aches to this day.
Oh that Irish melody.
So sweet in all dismay.
