The Sun in my Pocket
The sun delivers her shine
day and day throughout.
Sometimes I wish I could take all her in!
To carry that joy in my pocket,
ease my step, with an air of confidence.
My shades always open and awake;
sunburned freckles pamper my screaming pink face.
The sun will never stop- yet sometimes
I feel the eyes of a watchful clock.
Ticking.
Some shut windows out in fear,
hoping maybe everything will just
wash away like the stains
on their favorite cotton shirt; which
is to miss out on the one “free parking”
in life.
Her gift.
