The Plea
I’m trying to enjoy the finer things
But I can’t sit down
The running, playing and kinder things
But I won’t be found
I wait in the darkness,
To hold any hand
And my mother tells me
To find my feet and stand
In my mind I’m making it
Under heavens field lights
But all they can see it every bit
Of me falling out of their sight
Tell me you understand
Tell me you’ve been here before
Because none of us have the heart
To do this anymore
