The Shard of Glass
The shard of glass,
Shone,
Glistened,
Like a diamond.
Comfortable,
Relaxed,
It rested against a porcelain figure.
The sun’s rays bounced off
the piece of blown up sand.
Then
It is being melted
into a gel of glass,
turning it into a jar.
It is piping hot,
So hot,
that it needs to be held
by a pole.
It is a Ferris Wheel
spinning,
to its destiny.
Now,
It perches proudly
on my shelf;
a survivor of the burning fire.
