The Disappearance of the Statue of Liberty
She holds up a torch that stands for enlightenment, lighting the way to freedom for us all.
She keeps her head held high, towering above everyone, standing over three hundred feet tall.
She is a giant reminder of our independence, but inside she must feel small.
I wonder if the she ever gets tired of standing for freedom all the time?
She probably wants to shout, "Will it ever be someone else's turn? I'm sick of it being mine!"
But her mouth is made of copper and steel and it refuses to speak her words out loud.
So, she just stands completely still upon Liberty Island, trying to look proud.
Could it be possible that she wants to get emancipated from the island she calls home?
The world will watch in shock, one day when we wake up and The Statue of Liberty is long gone.
