Innocence at a Loss
Slowly shifitng shapes to fit the effervescent illusion,
the inescapable memory
frequently haunting,
a Ghost that refuses to disappear.
A vacancy is all that resides
within a heart that once felt every emotion
is now numb to the hurt and longing.
Searching for something more,
yet the clouds loom overhead making it impossible to forget.
All I can see is your face.
O how we wish things were different,
for I still and
always will miss
what we once had.
