Bricks
One brick, two bricks.
A kick to the heart leaving it broken once again.
Words will always hurt me.
The promises with no meaning, the empty-hearted phone calls.
A stab in the back leaving my trust broken once again.
Sweet talking stays to haunt me.
Three bricks, four bricks.
A text message to end it all once again.
Hope that you will wait for me.
The first fifty kisses, the warm embraces.
A first class trip back to Rock Bottom once again.
Prayers that you still want me.
Five bricks, six bricks.
An innocent trip to the movies once again.
Hope that you will just sit and hold me.
Unanswered questions, a needed distance.
A test to put my faith in action once again.
Cry to have you wait for me.
Seven bricks, eight bricks.
A promise to come back home once again.
Walk to and back if you ever wanted to see me.
Priorities rearranged, situations changed.
A test to see if we can be together once again.
Nobody to make me happier; only you bring out the real me.
Nine bricks, ten bricks.
A heartbreak that continues to increase slowly once again.
Pain that for once proves to be worth it to me.
Just friends, a two year wait.
A knowing we’ll be back to before once again.
One day where I can proudly say “I’m in love with you, as you’re in love with me.”
