They Cascade Away
They cascade away
From to branches wherever the wind blows
They start a new life, doing as they may
They're reluctant to go astray.
But they do what is required, to keep Earth's natural flow.
They cascade away.
Then they grow tired of the grey.
As an audacious life is near, their fogged window shows
They start a new life, doing as they may.
Their time to fleet approaches today
She weeps, she cannot bear to let them go.
They cascade away.
There they go on there way
From the oak tree to the thorned roses.
They start a new life, doing as they may.
There she is on her rocking chair looking out to the bay
She does not weep. She is in their hearts, she knows.
They cascade away.
They start a new life, doing as they may.
