The Skin I'm In
The world has nothing on the skin I’m in.
Not just my race, but the lines in which they begin.
To every freckle or mole.
To all the cuticles on my toes.
I’m loving the skin I’m in, deep down in my soul.
Not just the color or the way it feels.
Maybe just the way deep scars, tend to heal.
I set journey’s I will never embark.
Because I refuse, to come out this pleasantly dark.
I’m in the shadows, invisible to the naked eye.
Experiencing an everlasting love, that will never die.
I’m living in the skin I’m in.
This dark beautiful skin.
With every imperfection from start to end.
I enjoy the skin I’m in.
I’m proud of the skin I’m in.
My life has begun, and will end…
Without a doubt, in the skin I’m in.
I’m loving it!
