The Gears Turn
I know how life works
Things slide in and out like time itself
Never knowing when the hands will eventually stop turning.
Is there truly a moment in life
Where right as the sunsets
That the world itself truly stops spinning?
The Instant the sun finally sinks below the darkening horizon
Does time hold still
For one breathless moment?
And is it in that moment that moment
That things become clear
That meanings are realized
At the point where all time freezes
how are we to know when this moment occurs
if we are the ones that stand frozen
I know how life works
Everyone flies through the days like the gears on a clock
But what happens when the gears stop turning and we are frozen, forever
