"I don't do fashion, I am fashion." -Coco Chanel

I feel everyday
Like i'll never live up to what they say
Study hard, work hard, live good
But what happens if i could...

Do something unbelievable.
Try to be something outside of school
Not always what they want
But never really leaving the font

I'm tired of living life
A huge struggle, so much strife
He says daughter get good grades
Be the smart man who always pays

I say Daddy can't you let up?
I'm working hard on all of my stuff
You stumble in and say i'll fail
Don't you ever wonder about the rail?

The one that stops me in it's tracks
I'm so mesmerized and so realaxed.
I'm tired of being pushed around
So bound to this small town

So what if i'm not the daughter you want?
So what if i'm not a doctor or aunt?
Who cares if i'm a juvinille?
Do you think God even cares for a while?

I'm not the pretty, perfect girl
My daddy sees around the world
I can't live up to that tired fact
I'm just a girl who loves acrobats

I'm gonna be a rockstar
I"m gonna wear leotards
I"m gonna sing on the stage
Bearing only my lips and rage

I'm gonna be a fashion model
Pin thin and starving, ooh
Wearing couture and swinging my hips
Bad words rolling off my lips

I'm not gonna be the doctor
That my daddy says is all i can do
He says his life is the one for me
He don't care about his baby

Because, i wanna be who i am inside
Never giving up, trying wide
I"m so original it hurts the fall
When i give up it ruins it all

My daddy said baby be what you want
He was lying in some strange font
I'm not who he wants always
I'm just a girl who loves everyday

Thanks amyxu. What I meant when i said "but never really leaving the font" was that I am trying to be different, but i never really can be. I try really hard to be my own person, but sometimes it's like I can't be myself, i'm too controlled. But thank you very much for commenting.

Hey, I like your poem. It has a lot of potential. A few lines confused me a little bit: "But never really leaving the font" was a phrase I'm not familiar with. Also, some stanza-to-stanza transitions kind of threw me off, such as "You stumble in and say i'll fail/Don't you ever wonder about the rail?" I was asking myself as I read, "what rail?" because none had ever been mentioned before. Once those transitions are cleared up, though, the poem should flow really well. Anyway, I liked the topic a lot and I liked your approach to it. Nice job! :)
