Stick it to the Man
His alcohol is to easy to buy
His thirteen years play no role
The people at his apartment complex
Don’t respect the broken life of another kid.
His cigarettes have no consequences
His crack has no bad highs
The people that raised him
Aren’t worthy of being his parents.
He’s always concerned
With his sticking it to the Man
Not realizing
While the Man is stuck
The Monster claims it’s next victim.
He’s always worrying
About his not getting caught
Not realizing
While he avoids the cops,
He’s getting roped in on all sides.
It matters to me
Like it matters to no one else
That he get out ok
Because while I haven’t lived his world,
I know damn well what it’s like to be addicted.
I know that he’s an angel,
I’ve seen his good side,
And seen him play with the devil.
He’s always concerned
With his sticking it to the Man
Not realizing
While the Man is stuck
The Monster claims it’s next victim.
He’s always worrying
About his not getting caught
Not realizing
While he avoids the cops,
He’s getting roped in on all sides.
Doesn’t mean to him what it means to me,
I’ve nearly lost hope for his future
But I will keep carrying on
Looking out for my Etrill.
