White Lies (part one)
Summary:
I looked up at the box on the top shelf of my closet. When I first got my secret box, I put all of the private love notes August sent me into it so as to hide them from my family and friends. When he left me, I couldn’t look at the box without cringing, as it made me think of him and what he did to me. Now the box held so much more than just old love notes. It held a piece of evidence that could convict a possibly guilty man of rape, and save the future of my boyfriend. It also held the trust that my family bestowed on me last Christmas in the form of a ten thousand dollar ring. Both those things were basically meaningless now. The ring was meaningless because I lost the trust of my family by lying to them. The bandana was meaningless because no one could ever know about it except for me.
