Flushed
There were a lot of steps. I mean, it’s not hard to climb them… unless you are carrying a huge four person float and there is only one person helping in the back.
We finally arrived, dropped our bags off at the hotel, and went to the water park, walked in and were amazed at how many people there were.
“Woahh! Look at how big it is!” Brianna said as we went to find our spot.
As we looked around and found our table, I dropped my stuff and just like that the four of us went straight towards the toilet bowl. As we were walking I could smell the food in the tables and the chlorine in the water. We made our way to the toilet bowl, grabbed our four person float and climbed up the stairs, while I walked my feet were getting cold because the floor was cement, and so were the stairs, The railings were metal and really cold. In some way I guess I was lucky to be carrying the float.
Leading us up the stairs was Brianna, I was carrying the float behind her, alana was on the side of the float making sure it didn’t tip, and Alexis was in the back helping carry the float. When we finally reached the top we went to the largest tube for the toilet bowl and laid our float down. As we stepped in the water to get in the float, it started moving towards the mouth of the slide. Just when I thought it was going down the operator was there and he stopped it and told us to get on.
All together we scrambled around and sat down.
When we were all sitting he looked at us and asked, “Do you guys want a push?”
We looked at one another, smiled, and nodded. ‘How fast could it go?’ I wondered to myself.
He started “One… Two... “ and right before he said three he jumped up, (holding the top of the tube), and kicked the side of the float. It felt like we were flying, like a bird soaring in the sky.
I felt a little sick because we were spinning and going all around in the tube. It was pretty dark in the tube for it to be midday.
As I started going down, I was laughing because Brianna shouted, “Hey! That guy was HOT!” (which he was).
We all looked at her and she got red. I swear she was a strawberry. The float went down Faster and it was great to feel the air hitting my face and the water splashing up. All of us were talking and laughing. While we were going I could still smell the chlorine in the water. At this point we were almost done. Alexis swung off the edge and started sliding on her belly. When I thought it ended, I looked around and saw it wasn’t over yet. Alexis quickly got back into the float.
“That was really fun!” she seemed to be hollering even though I heard her fine.
All we were doing was spinning in circles. I noticed that the place we were in looked a lot like a toilet bowl and realized, that was why it is called the toilet bowl. The float was still going in circles, but it was slowing down. The water was hitting the side of the float getting my face and arms wet. We kept spinning but we were closer to the end, towards the mouth of the exit when I thought to myself ‘Flush! there we go!’ As we started going out I had admitted I was kind of scared at first, but now, it was the best experience I had ever had.
The ride spit us out and I slipped through the hole that was keeping us on the float. As we tried to walk to the stairs to get out of the water, I notice that there was a pretty strong current pulling us towards the mouth of the ride’s exit. We finally found a way out, grabbed the float, went up and went again! We could have spent hours and hours just going in circles… up the stairs and down the slide. Over and over.
I never thought about it till now… but maybe… just maybe… taking risk can lead to fun and great experiences.
