And Then Melissa Began to Play.
Slowly, like falling asleep, I was enveloped by a film that I’ve only touched in dreams. She became a candle, warm and soft as she manned her station at the helm of the ivory keys.
My eyes were drawn to her fingers as they deftly swept across the keyboard. They shook not with anxiety, but with anticipation. However, once her fingers landed on their designated keys, they were solid in their stance.
Light filled her as the melody advanced, to the point that her eyes possessed a shine that pierced past the walls, seeing beyond their boundaries.
In turn, I felt a sense of calming realization. I watched her and could feel myself rising to attention, suddenly possessing a knowledge that I cannot put to words.
Ah, I thought as I watched her, about nothing in particular. Ah.
