Read Arry Read!
Do you remember that first book you read on your own? I vividly remember the first book I had ever read. It was one of my mom and I’s greatest memories. My mom was always very supportive and helpful through everything. She helped me do everything to be who I am today. Before I had even made it to school yet I learned how to read. My mom worked every day with me to get me to try harder for the end result, which was learning to read by myself. She always had the too-good-to-be-true-smile whenever I could pronounce a new word. She made reading exciting to me. Every single time she told me I could pull out a new Dr. Seuss book I would hop out of bed, jump up and down and then grab a brand new book.
I remember the first time I read a book all by myself and my parents were as happy as clams. It got easier for me quickly and the book basically read itself for me. I remember the day I did it. It was a spring morning and it was bright and windy out. The snow had all been melted and the ground was muddy, wet and squishy. I asked my mom to read when I got up and then I managed to read it all by myself for the first time! The book was Go Dog Go! and I still have it to this very day because the moment was so important. My mom was so happy that she said “Lets go out to eat and celebrate!” We then went out to eat at Olive Garden and then went to the park after that.
¨A dog party! A big dog party!¨
This memory was very important to me because it was a sentimental moment for me and my mom. This is one of the stronger most important memories of her helping me. Still she is helping me every day to get through things that would be hard without her. 12 years later my mom continues to push me to be my best but helps me to be even better.
