the hike
the summer of 2017. When I went hiking I was wearing a shirt, shorts and a pair of basketball shoes. It was really hot at the bottom of the mountain but on the top of the mountain, it was very cold. We left at 11 in the morning to get there and we got there around 12 to start to go hiking the mountain. The mountain smelled like the woods.
When we were walking up the mountain we were all sweating cause it was so hot out that day but when we were getting up the midpoint of the mountain it started to get windy and kinda cold. On the way up the trail, I would drink some Gatorade just in case I run out of energy cause I need it for my energy. So when we made it to the midpoint of the mountain we took a rest at the resting area where you can cook food on a grill and you can sit down and lay on a bench, and there was a pond up there that people can swim in but it was too cold to go swimming in.
What it was like being at the top of Mount Washington is it was very windy but not as cold as I thought it was going to be. The top of the mountain was surrounded by a bunch of clouds and it was so beautiful up there. The top of the mountain there was a little hut that you can go in but we didn't go in to cause we were so tired of walking the mountain so we just sat up there and looked at the beautiful view of the mountain and the clouds. So after when we walked down the mountain we left and it started to rain a lot. When we were at the top of the mountain we saw not that many people cause other people were trying to make it up to the top of the mountain.
What I didn't know about the mountain is that I didn't know the trails were going to be rocky I thought the trails were going to be flat but I was wrong about that. I learned that it was a long walk. I didn't know that there were going to be waterfalls on the mountain. The trails were different then I thought. At the end of the hike up we didn't take the train to get down we walked back down the mountain. It's better to do it with family cause sometimes family knows them way better than just other people.
