Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, is a great book where firefighters actually burn books because reading is illegal, and if you were caught reading then your house wasn’t only burnt down you would be put under arrest.  This book has deep morals like showing knowledge over ignorance, and bravery in a futuristic city. Guy Montag is trying to convince his friends and family reading is great because it allows you to think for yourself, but the government doesn’t want that because they want everyone brainwashed to follow things blindly, especially Montag’s boss, Beatty, who is a strong anti-reader.

Overall I would give Fahrenheit 451 a 4.5/5 stars because it was very engaging, but was a bit over my head in the first chapter because it was confusing at first but if I went back and read the first chapter I would probably like it more. Ray Bradbury hasn’t just won one or two awards but nine-teen overall, so you know he is bound to make great work like the Martian Chronicles and Diving Blind, but Fahrenheit 451 is probably the most notable one. The way that Bradbury organized this book is great with the person vs. society questioning of the system and how he really wants to read but it is illegal. I would really like to know what would inspire Bradbury to make this science fiction masterpiece because when he wrote this in, 1952, he predicted that people would stop reading in the future like in Fahrenheit 451. I think that people over 12 should read it because it would probably go over younger people’s head but it was one of the best books I have ever read.
