The book that I read is Delirium a young adult novel written by Lauren Oliver, published on January 1, 2011 by HarperCollins. By far this book has been my favorite from all the books, and I never knew that I loved romance novel until I read this book. It’s about a girl named Lena that lives in a society where love is a disease. She meets a boy named Alex and falls in love. In this book I learn that if you give proper motivation, almost anyone will believe anything. We live in a society where we follow and believe anything or anyone. In the book the people believe that love is a disease and a crime. As soon as they turn 18 they get ‘cured’ from the disease.  I also learned that somewhere in the world there is someone who thinks you are beautiful. A lot of people are insecure, but in reality it’s society. Just like in the book Lena is insecure, but Alex says that she is beautiful. Lena starts for the first time in her life believing what Alex says. The plot structure of this book is easy because the author uses imagery, descriptive, and figurative language. It catches the reader's attention by presenting conflicts or situations throughout the book. The main element that started the story is the rising action when Lena started to catch feelings for Alex and falls in love with him. This book is insightful because Lena states the theme “I’d rather die my way than live yours”(Lauren Oliver 382). Lena in the whole novel risks her life. She would lie to her Aunt, go to the beach, hide in a abandoned house. She didn't Fear she just love, and no one could stop her from loving. Even if she know she would get into trouble if she got caught. Another quote that states the theme is “You have to understand. I just want to be happy”... “I just want to be normal, like everyone else.” (Lauren Oliver, 206)  Lena feared for being different, scared of experiencing a feeling that others don’t feel, and that kept her from being happy. At last I would recommend this book to the people who love romance novels because this book has that. Its calming and in the same time has you wanting to jump, but i would not recommend to someone that wants an ending like most romance novels end.
