I have never read a book like this one and i will never forget reading it. It is about a young boy named Harry Potter who is a wizard. He was orphaned as a child and famous for surviving the accident. He went to live with his only family. They treated him more like a burdening possession than a child. On his 11th birthday his was accepted into a School of Wizardry called Hogwarts where he meets his close friends Ron and Hermione, his arch nemesis Draco and his main protagonist Lord Voldemort.

I really liked how it was full of adventure and the characters were full of depth. Even for the characters being as  qaas they are they  have so much detail and background. Here are  a few scenes that i like: “Harry didn’t think there was anything wrong with not being able to afford an owl” (Rowling 100) and, “Harry ignored her. Blood was pounding in his ears. He mounted the broom and kicked hard against the ground and up, up he soared.”(Rowling 148) Those are only two scenes of countless ones where Harry has been selfless and brave.He would do anything to help his friends. This book reminds me a lot of the Percy Jackson series. They both have characters that came from bad homes and because of their other worldly lives they were given a chance to become someone. Harry and Percy try there hardest to fill the big responsibility of being the special one.

The only thing i didn’t like about this book was the plot. The climax and resolution were good but the other parts went too slow for me. I would often get distracted on the rising actions and most of the falling actions. Although it was a great book you have to have a really good concentration.
