Critique

My book is called Bluefish. The author is really descriptive and explains very well some of the things that happen in the story. For example, some authors make you get confused a lot with their writing. Most of the words the author uses are somewhat basic but it is understandable. Some of the reasons that I really liked reading about this book is that it connected a lot to me when I was in middle school. This book talks about a boy that is 13 years old and was an 8th grader and his name is Travis and was a very shy and lonely kid. He had a big secret hidden that he didn’t want nobody to know. I think the way the plot was made, it made us readers understand it more easily and the author’s ideas made the book sound more attracting to readers. One thing I learned from the book is that you don’t have to be afraid for asking help to others. Some connections I can get from this book is that sometimes I feel nervous telling the teacher about what I don’t understand. Some connections that I have between this book and the other books I have read is that this one is more in depth but it is understandable while the other ones are harder to understand and the structure is full of figurative language which can mess you up and you don’t really know what you are reading. The theme is really mysterious, secretive, friend-ship, sad, and inspirational.

Recommendation
Someone I would really recommend this book is to readers that like reading Fiction books and inspirational books. This book includes many outgoing chapters with great intensity and mysterious cases. The book contains friend relationships and love with one another and this is a good interesting book.

Quotes
“Only it wouldn’t go like that, not anymore.”(Schmatz 5). To me this means if you get something wrong the first time you won’t repeat the same mistake again.
“Travis’s face burned hot-red” (Schmatz 29). This shows characterization of the character which shows he’s really shy.
