In a dystopian world, the Society controls everything for you from where you work, when you die, and even who you love and will be with for the rest of your life.  This book is an unforgettable page turner that will have readers wanting more from this enthralling romance.

Cassia has always trusted the Society's choices they make for her.  And when she's matched with her best friend Xander, she is certain that they were truly meant to be together.  But when familiar face flashes on the Matching screen before the screen fades to black when she thought it was chip of Xander's life, this is the first time in Cassia's life when she starts to question the Society.  The Society tells her it was probably supposed to be a prank but she thinks it's more than that.  And When she starts to fall for Ky, her second match, she has to make a choice and choose between him and her childhood best friend, Xander.

You would think the entire book is going to be about her choosing between Ky and Xander, but the story is more than just romance.  When Cassia starts to spend a lot of time with Ky, she starts to find more about the world before the Society was created.  That there used to be poetry, music, and art before the Society destroyed it all.  But Allie Condie also makes the book realistic in the sense that the society isn't just some dictating world but there are reasons as to why the Society created this system to make the happiest environment they could for everyone.  The book is really well written and the overall theme of the book is to follow your heart and not what anybody else says.  Not only does she have to choose the guy she is destined to be with and the boy who she truly loves but do something about the lies of her society.  Her brain tells her to do nothing about it and live a normal life, but in her heart Cassia knows it isn't the right thing to do.
