Readers will be able to travel through a story filled with tales and riddles that eventually end at a happy conclusion in the book Where The Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin. The book explores old chinese lore and folktales, tying them into an interactive story that  will keep the reader turning pages.
This book follows the tale of a young poor girl named Minli as she travels to try to bring fortune to her family. She must travel to find the Man on the Moon who can answer any question she may ask. Along the way she encounters many struggles, and finds new friends.
The writer really grabs attention by including many stories told throughout the book as folk lore that seem to be true.  This book really is an easy read, and can be followed very easily. I could relate to many characters, and much description is provided throughout the book so the reader cannot set it down. It seems as though the book is real, whereas the folk tales told throughout the book, or not, but at the end they come together, and Grace Lin masterfully puts the two together. Most everyone of all ages can appreciate how lovely this story is. The reader really gets to know the characters. This is highly recommended for libraries and individual classrooms and homes.
